A social justice lens informed this unique web site and PDF push publication What began in 1995 as a photocopied newsletter for entrepreneurial cultural workers became the first online arts magazine in Canada. My early adopter e-zine which closed in 2003 was collected by the Library and Archives of Canada.
As managing editor, I was responsible for advertising, trade show, writers, monthly content. I was very fortunate to have had the amazing skills of web and product designer David Whittaker, of Useful Fictions, UK. The initiative wrapped in 2003 but not before being recognized by Dr. Robert Belton in “Important Moments in Canadian Art History,” Sights of Resistance (University of Calgary Press, 2001), p. 109. |
