My work life began and continues in the GLAM sector. I am an experienced gallery administrator with an MA in Art History, BA in Art History & Criticism, and a BA in Education. Currently, I am completing the Master of Museum Studies at the University of Toronto (2025). Recent coursework includes: Collections Management; Indigenous Communities & Museums; Curatorial Practice; Ethics, Leaderships & Management; Museums & Cultural Heritage; Writing in the Museum; and the Museum Exhibition.
I began my career as a curatorial assistant at the Art Gallery of Hamilton. This was followed by several years teaching visual art and English in the pubic school system while my children were small. |
At the same time, I created and managed The Arts Business Exchange -- a for-profit site and push newsletter for arts workers. This early adopter e-magazine started in 1996 was collected by Library & Archives of Canada. During my foray into the for-profit side of arts management, I worked also as an artist's agent and spent three years with a commercial art gallery.
Additionally, I have a specific interest in the complex world of health politics. In 2011, I published The Peanut Allergy Epidemic. The third edition published in 2017 includes a foreword by another allergy parent, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Learn more about me by visiting my portfolio pages, my blog or by scrolling over the links below -- some are hot-linked to TV and radio appearances. |
